Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) cable sheathing compound:
With the rapid development of application of chlorinated polyethylene (herein
below called CPE) in rubber industry both China and abroad, CPE elastomer
becomes to be the fast growth one in rubber field. As a professional CPE, in
order to meet the rapid demand of the market, we (Dandong Decheng Chemical
Co., Ltd.) have been researching and developing CPE elastomer CM361M in the
past several years. Besides the excellent properties of heat-resistance, cold-
resistance, oil-resistance, ozone-resistance, fire-retardancy, wearing-resistance
and excellent mechanical properties, our Cable Sheathing Compound is the best
substitution of CR or CSM due to its lower price. But the usage of CPE elastomer
had been restricted due to the immaturity of technology and lack of experience.
With the long time choice of raw material and test of formulation by our technician,
our company has developed cable sheath compounds, such as:
1) DCH 03A- Heavy non-extended burned under the temperature at
65oC (equals to XH-03A or heavy O and FR of O.FR BS6899)
2) DCH 01A - generally non-extended burned under the temperature at
65oC (equals to XH-01A or SE4)
3) DCH 21A -generally non-extended burned under the temperature at
85oC (equals to XH-21A or IEC502, IEC92-531)
4) DCH 03C -colored generally non-extended burned under the temperature
at 65oC equals to XH-03C or heavy O and FR of BS6899)
5) DCSH21A-fire retardant thermoplastic cable sheathing compounding under
the temperature at 85'C
6) Manufacturing condition: continuous curing condition
In the meantime, we are now researching and developing CPE elastomer
sheath compounds with the excellent properties of fire retardancy and high
fire retardancy for the coal mine application. Compared with CR or CSM
compounds, the cable (rubber) sheath that made from CPE elastomer
compounds has a lot of advantages. With its safety operation, being stored
for a long period and excellent extrusion surface, our CPE cable sheath
compounds can lower the production cost sharply compared with CR or CSM.
